Peace Is A Choice. A Culture. A Way Forward.

SGI-Gulf champions a culture of peace through education, dialogue and global solidarity

Vision of Peace

At SGI-Gulf, peace is not merely the absence of conflict-it is the presence of empathy, dignity, and dialogue. Inspired by the teachings and peace proposals of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda, our initiatives aim to embed peace into the everyday fabric of life-through reading, community engagement, and creative expression.

The Peace Room

Located in Dubai Knowledge Village, the Peace Room is a symbolic and practical space for quiet reflection, reading, and dialogue. Inaugurated in 2011, the room holds a curated library of over 176 books, films, and journals—ranging from Daisaku Ikeda’s peace proposals to Nobel laureates’ reflections on non-violence.

International Poets of Peace

An SGI-Gulf UAE International Award for Poets of Peace was launched at a press conference held at the International Humanitarian City (IHC) in Dubai today. In cooperation with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in the UAE, it is the first award of its kind, bridging a multitude of nationalities and languages in which poets will present their sonnets, spreading a message of peace around the world. The global award aims at using poetry to spread awareness amongst people about the importance of peace and raises further consciousness for humanitarian work around the world.

"Peace is not a place you reach-it’s the way you walk."

Daisaku Ikeda's Legacy of Peace

Since 1983, Dr. Ikeda has submitted annual peace proposals to the United Nations on January 26th-offering concrete solutions to disarmament, sustainability, education, and youth empowerment. These documents frame SGI’s core peace advocacy.
